Born in the former Yugoslavia in 1942, Stoyan came to America in 1959. He received a BA from Indiana University (Phi Beta Kappa) and an MA (Russian Literature) from Columbia University. His screen writing credits include Breaking Away (1979 Oscar), Eyewitness, Four Friends, The World According to Garp, American Flyer and Eleni. In addition to the libretto to King of Hearts, Steves work for the theatre includes the plays The Speed of Darkness, Square One, and On the Open Road. Karoo is the title of his novel completed just before his untimely death in 1996.

Peter Link has won the Drama Desk Award as composer of Salvation. His scores for Joseph Papps Much Ado About Nothing and Neil Simons The Good Doctor each earned him Tony Nominations. His musical concert The River received TOR awards for Best Musical and he received Best Director and Best Composer/Lyricist awards. As Composer-in-Residence at the New York Shakespeare Festival, he wrote the score for many shows including Iphigenia, Older People, The Orphan, Comedy of Errors, and Trelawney of the Wells. Broadway credits include Ulysses in Nightgown (Zero Mostel), Lysistrata (Melina Mercouri), and The Mighty Gents, as well as King of Hearts.Mr. Links pop music credits are also extensive. He has composed for, produced and directed the six-year run of The Jenny Burton Experience. This vocal group has performed all over the world and won Backstage, Critics Choice and MAC Awards. He has also produced an album recorded by Johnny Mathis, Dionne Warwick, Peggy Lee, and even Mae West. Mr. Link also built and owns Westrax Recording Studios, a 24-track digital/midi recording studio in New York.

Brackman was a journalist in the 1960s. His reporting, essays, and fiction appeared in magazines such as The New Yorker and Esquire, where he was film critic until 1972. Since then, his songs have been recorded by Fred Astaire, Dionne Warwick, Dr. John and Steve Winwood. His collaboration with Caryl Simon spans 30 years, from her first hit to the libretto for her recent opera, Romulus Hunt. Brackmans movie credits included The King of Marvin Gardens (screenplay), Days of Heaven (executive producer, 2nd unit director) and Times Square (writer-producer).
